Intermediate Workshop Image

Our Intermediate Digital SLR course condensed into one intensive weekend workshop.

Maximum immersion into photography for maximum learning results!

Are you looking for a great next step to advance your basic skills, but don’t have the time to commit to a 10 week program? Then, this workshop is for you!

In only 2 days you will learn how to take your photography skills to the next level. Go beyond the fundamentals with LOTS of shooting both indoors and outside. The focus of this workshop is practical shooting exercises, designed to systematically improve your skills.

You'll learn about the latest digital techniques from capture all the way to final output (web and print). Techniques discussed include XDR, HDR, advanced use of depth of field, creative custom white balance, effective RAW shooting and processing, creating panoramas to name just a few. When shooting in the studio, we'll explore creative yet efficient lighting techniques that will work for you inside as well as outside. Last but not least, we'll talk about lenses and other camera accessories such as flashes, memory cards, filters etc.

Although the focus of this workshop is on actual hands-on shooting, we also set aside time to discuss digital post-production. We'll be demonstrating Adobe Lightroom 2.0, Bridge and Photoshop CS4 and specialized software such as Photomatix (HDR processing) and Autopano Pro (Panorama creation).

Expect to have fun, shoot and learn lots.

"The class was amazing and my photography is at a new level. To make matters worse, I can’t take classes anywhere else now since they just aren’t up to the standard set by Vancouver Photo Workshops; the competition is a waste of time by comparison."

"This has been the best photography course I have ever taken - thank you VPW for keeping the class size small, instructors are the best in the City and we worked with true professional equipment."

"Marc and the fellows at VPW bring a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to the sessions. The models are professional and the amount of shooting during the sessions outstanding. Fellow class participants added to the value of class."
