Rick's Teaching Style:

Photography teaches us to better see and perceive the environment around us. I am passionate about teaching. I want to inspire all my students to fulfill their own personal potential. I strive to take each and every student’s understanding and practice of photography to the next level.

Each of my workshops are designed to contain an abundance of valuable photographic related information and knowledge . . . so much so that students will likely want to repeat the workshops periodically to take advantage of my commitment to continuously update the curriculum based on my own on going experiences and personal insights with other teachers and exemplary photographers that I interact with on a regular basis.

I am guided by the following principles:

  • Adults learn more from story telling than from memorization
  • Learning is heightened when key principles can be related to a humorous event
  • Effective learning arises when knowledge is self-discovered with directed input,
    as opposed to being “taught”
