Scott Hargis has been widely recognized as a leader in the interior photography genre. His acclaimed book, “The Essential Guide to Lighting Interiors” is listed on the Strobist.com ‘bookshelf’ and has been called the “bible” for small-flash interiors photography.

Hands-On Beginner Interior Photography Seminar with Scott Hargis - Feb 27th, 2011, $375:

Learn the basics when it comes to exposure and composition for shooting interiors for real-estate photography with this hands on seminar that will take place on location inside a Vancouver home.

Scott will show you how to determine which rooms should be shot for your client’s needs. Also learn how to maximize a basic lighting set-up using flashes and simple light modifiers. This class is perfect for anyone who owns a DSLR and would like to advance their skills for real estate photography.

Recommended Requirements: A DSLR camera (not a point-and-shoot)
At least one battery-powered off-camera flash
A basic understanding of how to use your camera and flash units in manual mode.


Interior and Architectural Photography Seminar with Scott Hargis - Feb 26th, 2011, $45:

In this interactive seminar, Scott Hargis will introduce you to the world of interior/architectural photography. He will discuss the challenges you may encounter and explain the techniques required to overcome them.

Learn what tools are involved to achieve the results and view examples of what your clients are looking for.

Scott will share the creative aspects of his architectural work and explain the processes behind it. Scott will also touch on the business side of Real Estate Photography from the initial phone call to the delivery of the images.

This seminar is geared towards photographers who shoot for Architects, Interior Designers, Builders, Real Estate, and other disciplines requiring crisp, clear images of interior spaces.

It is also great for realtors who want to take photography into their own hands or find out what they should expect from a professional real estate photographer.


Hands-On Intermediate to Advanced Interior Photography Seminar with Scott Hargis - Feb 28 + March 1st, $375 each:

This hands on seminar delves into complex aspects of interior photography.

Scott will help you solve colour management issues and will show you how to get the best output when post processing images.

You will learn how to use tilt shift lenses and advanced lighting set-ups.

This class is recommended for photographers who have mastered the basics and are interested in expanding abilities and skills. Scott will show you how to make images quickly and efficiently in the field, that require minimal re-touching.

Pre-Requisites

Level:

Basic to Intermediate photography and (small flash) lighting knowledge required. Please seee above for specific requirements by event.

Enrollment:

Maximum 9 participants in each day-long workshop! Seminar has no enrollment restriction.

What to Bring

Equipment Needed:

Bring your film or digital SLR camera (must have manual controls) and at least 1 lens.
Optional: additional lenses, camera flash, tripod or laptop.

We Provide:

Workshop and Seminar content as described above. Location fees.

Discounts

Early-Bird Discount:

If full payment is received by thge Early Bird Discount Discount deadline, you will receive the indicated discount amount off regular tuition rates.

Group Discount:

A 5% discount will be appplied if 3 or more people register at the same time for the same workshop. (All 3 tuitions must be paid for by one credit card to be considered a group registration.) Please follow the instructions on the online registration page.

Refunds

In order to provide the best learning environment possible VPW keeps class sizes limited to 12-15 people (depending on the workshop). This is but one reason that we count on you to attend your chosen class, once you have registered for it.

If you must withdraw for any reason please be aware of our refund policy as follows:

For our Master Photographer Series workshops, 1 to 5 days in length, VPW requires 60 days written notice (before the workshop start date) of your withdrawal in order to provide a refund. VPW may retain 15% of fees paid or $150 minimum in processing your refund. If the tuition is less than $500 the minimum fee drops to $75.

Within 45 days of the Master Photographer Series workshop date all fees paid are non-refundable.
