Welcome to this new and exciting WORKSHOP centered around expressing your creative vision using just re-released Polaroid Film.
Even if you have never shot film before (or Polaroid) you'll be surprised how easy it will be. In less than 15 minutes, you'll be up to speed and ready to shoot.
In fact, we're sure our digital shooters will especially enjoy to photograph without (!) having to worry about histograms or customs functions for a change.
This is all about concentrating on the image. It's about minimizing technical distractions. It's about making striking imagery! It's about excercising creativity!
We are very proud to offer this workshop to you lead by not one, but TWO (!) instructors.
Highly acclaimed contemporary commercial and fine-art photographer DAVID ELLINGSEN will join forces with VPW Director and fine-art photographer Marc Koegel.
Both instructors have just completed some major work using Polaroid emulsions, proving that using film has its place not just in the fine-art market but also in the commercial photography field.
We'll be shooting extensively on both Saturday and Sunday. Weather permitting, we'll be working both in studio but also on location.

You'll have the opportunity to shoot portraits of a variety of models. For those interested, we will also offer you to photograph the figure (this is optional). Both of these subjects lend themselves incredibly well to using Polaroid media. We'll be working with both, ambient and artificial lighting including studio flash equipment.
We will begin the workshop with a detailed introduction to using the polaroid film and camera, both in-studio and on-location. We talk about how to get inspired, how to put together a personal body of fine-art photography using this rare photographic medium.
Throughout the workshop, David and Marc will both be working very closely with all participants, answering your questions and helping you achieve your photographic goals.
You may bring a digital camera for testing, even for taking images alongside, but the focus will be on using Polaroid materials.
You can use your own Polaroid camera (please tell us which model you have) or you can use cameras we provide as part of this workshop. We will demonstrate a variety of Polaroid films, and have samples ready for you to use. Please do bring a minimum of 20 exposures of your own Polaroid film(s) to use. Contact us and we gladly recommend where and what to buy.
