Vancouver Photo Workshops proudly announces this exciting destination workshop with acclaimed photographers Christopher Morris and Marc Koegel.
This destinaton workshop will have you shooting all around the famous Las Vegas region. Yes, you may try your hand at gambling, but this city and surrounding area also boasts some incredible backdrops for photography (which is why we're here, really!).
This will be an exciting 3 days filled with photography.
Our long list of potential shooting locations include the famous Neon Grave Yard, Dry Lake Beds, Dumont Dunes, Ghost Towns, Redstone Park, as well as Lake Mead and Armagosa Valley Ruins.
We'll use an arsenal of lighting equipment, both small and large strobes that can run on battery power so we can take them with us no matter how remote the location.
We'll be working with local models handpicked by Christopher and Marc.
We'll set out early and stay until sunset in persuit of the best light. In the evenings, there will be ample time to gather as a group and review images created. There's time set aside for some technical lectures and hands-on demonstrations on location, so you'll not only walk away with great images but also an understanding of the technical aspects of each photograph we take.
Christopher Morris is widely known for his hands-on teaching style - no secrets will be held back. Read this testimonial he received from a former student:
"Best per moment workshop I have ever attended in photography. Chris has shown us not only what we should do, but also what we can do. CM has the ability to instruct, inspire and challenge, all in the same breath. The resources at VPW, coupled with the energy and experience of CM made for a educational experienced that was world class. No need to travel out of Vancouver to get a world class Editorial Lighting workshop. Back to the basics to take us forward and challenge us. I left the workshop not only seeing how to light at a higher standard, but I left knowing how to do it myself, with my own equipment."
This workshop is geared towards the professional, or amateur photographer looking to expand his/her knowledge of lighting, techniques and equipment. It's also for those looking to take advantage of the great surroundings the Las Vegas area has to offer.
