Welcome to this new and exciting WORKSHOP series centered around the busy working life of contemporary commercial and fine-art photographer DAVID ELLINGSEN.
During this one day workshop, David will discuss his photography career to date in relation to his portrait work…the challenges, the shoot preparations, equipment and other key considerations, both in general and in reference to specific assignments he has completed.
Addressing issues for the key markets of editorial and advertising, David will demonstrate his shoot process during an in class photo session using multiple lighting techniques.
As a participant you will be able to watch the entire shoot unfold, and gain unique insights into the commercial photography business as it is practiced today!
You will meet the Art Director, Make-up Artists, The Stylists, The Model and see how David interacts with everyone as he works to realize his creative vision and inspiration for the shoot.
For this photo shoot, David will be working with the latest Profoto strobe equipment. He will be shooting on a Hasselblad 50 Megapixel camera. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about all of this professional equipment in great detail as it will be used throughout the day.
David will take time and discuss the business aspects of the shoot. He will run over the budget sheet for the day, explaining in great detail each item, talent and their respective fees, including what he as the photographer would charge for this type of photo shoot.
David will be able to answer all your questions including any advice related to running a successful photographic business.
