About David Ellingsen:

David Ellingsen is a Commercial and Fine Art photographer based in the Pacific Northwest. David was born in 1969 and raised on Cortes Island in the northern end of the Gulf of Georgia in British Columbia, Canada. In 2000, at the age of 30, he completed his education and launched his business from Vancouver that same year.

David photographs people for advertising, corporate and editorial clients attracting commissions from global publications such as the New York Times Magazine, Marie Claire, Men's Health, and People. David has also partnered with clients like DDB, MTV/Nickelodeon, Nettwerk Records, Translink, BC Hydro and the esteemed David Suzuki Foundation, bringing a refined aesthetic to his crisp, balanced commercial style.

His fine art collections are captured on both digital media and traditional hand processed film stock, both printed to museum exhibition standards in small editions. Most recently David had his first solo exhibition in the US at the Camerawork Gallery in Portland, Oregon. In November of 2009 he traveled to Lishui, China as a guest to exhibit his new series, Future Imperfect, followed closely by a second solo US exhibition in December at Galerie BMG in Woodstock, New York. Additionally, David's photographs were requested by the Chinese Museum of Photography to become part of their permanent collection.
