Vancouver Photo Workshops proudly presents an evening seminar, "Color Management for Photographers" with internationally renowned digital imaging specialist Andrew Rodney.

Set in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, this seminar is designed specifically for digital photographers or film photographers who use a digital post processing workflow.

This evening seminar covers the essential concepts a photographer needs to successfully implement a sound color management workflow.

From Photoshop, to Camera Raw, to Lightroom and more, by the end of the evening, you'll have a through understanding of how to predictably move from capture to final output.

Topics Include:

* What is color management and why do we need it?
* Color Theory without a lick of math.
* What are the most appropriate color spaces from Raw to final output?
* Histograms, numbers and working visually to edit your images.
* Display calibration and proper environmental viewing conditions for the closest match.
* What are your best options for a display system.
* Soft proofing and editing images for output to print.
* CMYK for Photographers and strategies for dealing with clients and print houses.
* Building profiles for your output devices. What are your options in hardware and software?
* Proofing in-house for your clients and how you can use color management to add to your studio's bottom line.

Andrew is owner of The Digital Dog, a digital imaging training and consulting business located in Santa, Fe New Mexico.

Andrew Rodney, aka the Digital Dog, has successfully provided services and training to photographers, designers, print shops, government agencies, as well as fortune 1000 companies since 1993.

Andrew has written in the following publications: PDN, Publish, Photoshop User, Digital Photo Pro, Electronic Publishing, Digital Output, MacWeek, and Professional Photographer. Andrew is the author of "Color Management for Photographers, Hands on Techniques for Photoshop Users" published by Focal Press.He lectures around the country on many aspects of digital imaging and color management. The Digital Dog is devoted to the understanding and adoption of color management.

Andrew has been a Beta tester for Adobe Photoshop since version 2.5. and is currently an Alpha tester for Adobe Systems. Andrew is one of the principle partners of Pixel Genius LLC, a company that has created such products as PhotoKit and PhotoKit-Sharpener (http://www.pixelgenius.com/index.html). Andrew was named a "Top 40 Photoshop Expert" by Wacom Technologies. In 2007, Andrew was inducted into the NAPP Photoshop Hall of Fame.

Discounts

Early-Bird Discount:

A 10% discount is applied automatically if you register before the Early-Bird Discount deadline date listed in the registration table below.

CAPIC & PPABC Members:

A 5% discount is available to CAPIC and PPABC members when registering online. Please be prepared to show your membership cards on the first day of your workshop.

Group Discount:

A 5% discount will be appplied if 3 or more people register at the same time for the same workshop. (All 3 tuitions must be paid for by one credit card to be considered a group registration.) Please follow the instructions on the online registration page.

Refunds

In order to provide the best learning environment possible VPW keeps class sizes limited to 12-15 people (depending on the workshop). This is but one reason that we count on you to attend your chosen class, once you have registered for it.

If you must withdraw for any reason please be aware of our refund policy as follows:

For our Master Photographer Series workshops, 1 to 5 days in length, VPW requires 30 days written notice (before the workshop start date) of your withdrawal in order to provide a refund. VPW may retain 15% of fees paid or $150 minimum in processing your refund. If the tuition is less than $500 the minimum fee drops to $75.

Within 30 days of the Master Photographer Series workshop date all fees paid are non-refundable.
