How to Enter:

1. Each month on the 1st we will post a theme under this forum and in the gallery section of this community.

2. You must be a Member of the Vancouver Photo Workshops Community to be able to enter this contest.

3. If you are not a Member yet simply Register using the link at the top of the forum. It is free to register.

4. Go to the Gallery section of this Community and look for the category titled Monthly Themed Photo Contest!
Click on the current month's category and then click on 'New Image' (in the right, top corner.) This will bring up the WYSIWYG editor. You can add a caption to your image here if you like.

Please ensure your image is re-sized to a maximum of 800 pixels on the long side! (Large files will not upload into the system.)

Please ensure you fill in the Copyright section with your full name (first and last name!) then add your image using the Upload File section at the bottom. That's all there is to it. Your image will then be viewable online to all our Members.

5. Photographers are limited to entering only 3 images each per monthly theme.

6. Once uploaded your image may be commented on or rated. You may also rate and comment on other photographers work. We highly encourage this feed back!

7. Contest closes each month at 11.59pm on the last day of the month. At this time VPW Instructors will look over all the images and decide on the top 3 and the overall winner. The top 3 and the winner will be notified by PM/Email and listed in the Winners Forum. Winners will be announced on the 15th of each month.

Prizes:

So what do you win? Always the most important question.

1.The winner will receive $100 Gift Certificate that can be used towards any of VPW's Courses and Workshops . Yes, that's right. A full $100 worth of Photography Training. Expires 12 months from initial issue date. No cash value. To be used in a single transaction. Maximum value $100.

2.The top 3 images will be showcased on the blog of the Vancouver Photo Workshops website.

3.The top 3 images will be showcased in our annual Photographic Exhibition at Photo Haus Gallery.

The Rules:

1. Each month we will post a new contest theme in the photo contest section of our forum and gallery.

2. The contest opens on the 1st of each month and we will accept entries until 11.59pm on the last day of the month.

3. Participants must shoot images during that month directly related to the theme. You may interpret the theme however you wish, but photos must be taken during the contest time frame.

4. Participants may upload only 3 images per monthly contest. So choose your best pics!

5. Please make sure you put your full name in the copyright section when uploading your image so we know who you are. Please do not watermark images.

6. When the contest closes Instructors from VPW will choose the winning image and will announce the winner on the website by the 15th of the following month. They will also choose the best 3 pics to be added to the slideshow on the blog of the Vancouver Photo Workshops website.

7. Copyright of all photographs remains with the photographer, however, by entering this contest you agree to give Vancouver Photo Workshops the right to use the images on all our websites, e-newsletters and any printed material directly related to the marketing of the contest and Vancouver Photo Workshops.
