The Fine Art Black and White Nude and Figure Photography Workshop:

"Marc's skill and enthusiasm for teaching is only matched by his incredibly inspiring photographs. Thank you for a great workshop today!"

"The class was amazing and my photography is at a new level."

This long-awaited workshop centers all arround fine-art black and white nude and figure photography.

The goal of this workshop is not only to have all participants walk home with stunning images; our aim is to introduce you to a different way of seeing, to ignite your passion for the creative process that is photography.

Master Photorapher Ralph Gibson beliefs that "...all photographers should know how to photograph two things: the nude and architecture...". After this is accomplished, any subject can be attempted.

Your instructor Marc has been photographing the nude and figure for many years. What has started as a purely personal journey has significantly affected Marc's personal style and creative vision as a photographer.

In addition to Marc's B&W landscape images, his nude and figure work has been widely exhibited in Vancouver and beyond.

Marc will share his personal inspirations, approaches and techniques during this intensive weekend workshop. Focused mainly on giving the students as much shooting time as possible, you'll be working in small groups with a variety of models. Marc prefers to work on location, allowing himself to be inspired by the surroundings. We'll be utilizing natural light as much as possible, but have professional flash and studio strobe equipment on hand should the need to use it arise.

We'll start Friday evening with an introductory lecture where Marc will share his images, creative approach and techniques (including specific advice for black and white photography). We'll shoot ALL DAY Saturday and Sunday, so make sure to bring enough batteris and memory cards! A computer will be available to download images and burn onto CD/DVD or transfer to a portable harddrive.

Critiques by the instructor are available and ongoing throughout each day.

Digital camera equipment, or film in any format (including 4x5) can be used.

We'll meet again within a few weeks of the workshop to review our images as a group. The exact date of this follow-up meeting will be discussed and agreed upon with all participants on the first day of the workshop.

In addition to the follow-up meeting, Marc will be hosting and exclusive Adobe Photoshop and fine-art printing seminar to allow participants to print images shot during the workshop. More details about this seminar will also be discussed during the workshop.
