The Adobe Lightroom Workshop:

"I am so happy to see you teaching classes on the latest equipment and software available on the market. I am currently taking a digital photography course elsewhere in town and we are still using Photoshop CS which is about as outdated as the camera and lighting equipment this school has. I am looking forward to taking your CS3 and RAW camera workshops soon."

In this new weekend workshop, your instructors Marc will introduce to Adobe Lightroom, a software specifically developed for today's digital photographers. In this 2 day workshop, we'll cover the entire lightroom workflow including capturing, cataloging, sorting, editing, developing and outputting your images.

This workshop is directed to photographers with minimal knowledge of lightroom. If your skills are more advanced, please check the detailed topic list below or contact us to determine whether this workshop is right for you.

We will setup a full-scale live portrait shoot with a professional model so we can demonstrate a 'real life' complete workflow. This demonstration will also include fine-art printing demonstration to an Epson 3800 and we'll create an online gallery of our images as well.

The portrait shoot will be an excellent starting point to discuss proper digital exposure, and each student will have the opportunity to create images to later import and work with in Lightroom software. Once our images are imported, we'll start exploring the main modules of the program. Here's what we'll cover in detail:

In Library we will cover:
File handling
Metadata
Keywording
   Exposure Presets

In Develop we will cover:
Histogram
White balance
Recovery
Clarity
Noise
   Tone curves
    Color correction
   Grayscale conversion

In Slideshow we will cover:
  Templates
Layout
Overlays
            Backdrop
Playback
Adding sound
    Exporting a slide show

In Print we will cover:
      Image selection
     Layout options
     Printing modes
     Print sizes

In Web we will cover:
   Web Galleries
   Web templates
  Output settings
   Image settings

Please note that, time permitting, we'll also show you how to work with Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom together.

Important: Participants need to bring a computer (Mac or PC, Laptop or Desktop) loaded with Adobe Lightroom Software. You can download a 30 day trial for free at www.adobe.com. It is recommended to upgrade to the latest version, so please check what you are currently using.
