acclaimed photographer Joe McNally to
be held from November 26th to 30th, 2007. Set in beautiful
Vancouver, British Columbia, this is a once in a lifetime
opportunity to expand your visual horizons under the guidance
of one of the great masters in contemporary photography.
Take part and experience a renewed sense of energy, inspiration
and vitality in your photography.
Joe McNally is a sought-after lecturer and teacher at scores of international seminars. Joe was described by American Photo magazine as “perhaps the most versatile photojournalist working today” and was listed as one of the 100 most important people in photography. In January 1999, Kodak and Photo District News honored Joe by inducting him into their Legends Online archive. In 2001, Nikon Inc. bestowed upon him a similar honor when he was placed on their website’s prestigious list of photographers noted as “Legends Behind the Lens”.
This workshop, designed for experienced photographers who want to become more proficient in the use of light on location, is about learning how to size up a location and find the best angles and light for the assignment.
We explore the use of natural and artificial light, reflectors, strobes, and tungsten to light and photograph portraits, interiors, exteriors, large and small spaces, street scenes, and people in all types of situations and locales. Our emphasis is on how to "write" with lighting and how to use lighting techniques to shape the mood and color of a photograph. We explore color temperature, ways of working with natural light and strobe, and how to mix the two effectively.
This workshop is an unparalleled
opportunity for the Pacific Northwest photographer who
has been interested in the many high caliber photography
workshops on the east coast, but found the cost for travel
and accommodation to be prohibitive. Since the workshop
is being held at Vancouver Photo Workshops in Vancouver,
B.C. our American participants will find that the added
bonus of exchange rates will make this a real treat resulting
in excess of 12% (at time of this writing) off all your
expenses in Canada.
