Vancouver Photo Workshops proudly announces
this public lecture and presentation with internationally
acclaimed photographers Jay Maisel & Gregory Heisler.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and hear not one but two of the world's top commercial photographers in one night! This event is part
of Mr. Maisel's and Mr. Heisler's stay in Vancouver, and in addition to
their five day Workshops to be held from May
19th to 23rd, 2008.
Use this opportunity to meet and hear two of the great
Masters in contemporary photography. Mr. Maisel and Mr. Heisler will both be
presenting a large slideshow of their famous imagery, along
with a lecture centering arround their unique inspiration,
point of departure and career in photography. Following his lecture, we will open the floor to any questions you might have. Expect for the event to run for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, including the question period.

About
the Artists: Jay Maisel
Photographer Jay Maisel's career spans 40 years.
His name has become synonymous with vibrant color
photography that uses light and gesture to create
countless unforgettable images for advertising,
editorial and corporate communications.
In addition, his pictures appear in books and art
collections. Included among his many awards for
excellence are the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame,
American Society of Media Photographers' Photographer
of the Year Award and the International Center of
Photography's Infinity Award.
A graduate of Cooper Union and Yale University,
Jay continues his education by teaching younger
photographers at workshops, seminars and lectures
around the world.

the Artist: Gregory Heisler
Gregory Heisler is a New York-based photographer whose technical mastery and thoughtful responsiveness allow him to creatively interpret an unusually broad range of subjects.
He is perhaps best known for the more than fifty Time magazine cover portraits he has created, yet his trademark editorial portrait covers and essays for Life, Sports Illustrated, Gentlemen's Quarterly (GQ), Esquire, ESPN, House and Garden and The New York Times Magazine have also received wide acclaim. He has photographed award-winning advertising campaign's for American Express, Benson & Hedges, Dewar's Profiles, Nike, Merrill Lynch, and Zocor.
Gregory has been profiled in magazine articles in Esquire, Communication Arts, Life, and numerous industry periodicals. Among the kudos he has received are the ASMP Corporate Photographer of the Year Award (1986), the Leica Medal of Excellence (1988), the World Image Award (1991), and the Alfred Eisenstadt Award (2000).
