Hello everyone,
just finished a fun day at the studio shooting some stills and time-lapse videos to showcase our brand new space. The renovations have finally paid off and we are ready to show the world what we have created.
Our 2 main studio spaces will be branded as PhotoHaus Studios, watch for a new website to appear soon as well.
We thought long and hard about what Photographers will want to see in a ‘dream studio space’. After interviewing many local professionals we compiled a list with their recommendations and started working. We’ve decided to install a powerful yet easy to use background pulley system, which nearly all of our ‘advisers’ preferred over a cove or cyc wall. This way, valuable floor space is preserved and maximized, and it is incredibly easy and fast to setup a great variety of backgrounds to shoot against. We have a 20 x 18 foot white Silk and same size black Duvetyne installed on two pulleys, while a third allows the option to use 9 or 12 foot paper backdrops. It really is an ingenious system that we wanted to show off in this small time-lapse video.
With a size of approximately 2500 sqft, it is easy to work with multiple shooting setups at the same time. The 7 foot Octabank shown as the main light looks small in this great space. Having all this room is great for our courses and workshops as well. No other teaching facility in Vancouver can offer such professional and spacious studios for students to learn and shoot in. The total size of our studio facility is over 7000 sqft, making this one of Vancouver largest. More than twice the size of other teaching institutions. What started at the 1304 Seymour studio has grown to these incredible dimensions in less than 5 years….
